About Dr. Sunny Lai

Dr. Lai has passionately serviced patients for their podiatric needs in Burnaby for the past 30 years. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Western Ontario and his medical degree from Rosalind Franklin University in Illinois, completing his Podiatric Surgery residency at Vancouver General Hospital.

Dr. Lai is most passionate about the sports medicine aspect of his practice: helping athletes young and old, novice and professional, to be their best. In his spare time, he enjoys photography, learning new languages, working out, hiking with his family and dog, open-water swims, kayaking, camping, and snowboarding.

About Dr. Midy Liou

We welcome our associate Dr. Liou to the office. Dr. Liou is a well-trained and experienced foot and ankle surgeon who treats a variety of lower-limb problems including sports injuries, flat and high-arched feet, bunions and hammertoes, warts, fungal toenails, and diabetic foot care.

Dr. Liou grew up in Vancouver and attended the University of British Columbia, earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He went on to earn his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine from Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine in Miami, Florida. While in school, Dr. Liou volunteered at events to raise awareness and treated those with diabetic foot complications.

Upon graduation, he completed a comprehensive three-year surgical residency in Foot and Ankle Reconstructive Surgery at Montefiore Medical Center, serving as Chief Resident in his third year. He has a special interest in minimally invasive surgical correction of bunion deformities, in which he has completed clinical research.

Dr. Liou is dedicated to providing his patients with exceptional care and compassion. When not at the clinic, he enjoys playing badminton, hiking, and fishing.

Where are your offices located?

Our main office is at 205-4980 Kingsway, Burnaby, BC. We also see patients on Thursday mornings at 1-2185 Wilson Avenue, Port Coquitlam, BC.

What conditions does the clinic treat?

Sports injuries, flat and high-arched feet, bunions and hammertoes, warts, fungal toenails, ingrown nails, dermatologic concerns, and diabetic foot care. Surgical correction - including minimally invasive bunion surgery - is available when conservative care isn't enough.

How do I book an appointment?

Call (604) 435-3055 for either office. Burnaby appointments can also be booked online via Medeo.

What is your cancellation policy?

We ask that all cancellations be made with at least 24 hours notice. To ensure the health and safety of all our patients and staff, masks are recommended during your visit.
